We had a reader send in a great stuffed ‘no ghost’ logo from the 1980s. Can anyone give a positive identity to this item? Is it official? Is it a bootleg? Any info would be appreciated.
I think I saw those at a carnival way back when.. one of those unlicensed plush items they give away when you win games. If I recall, they came in colors as well.
I haven’t seen anything about an official plush like this, though I do know that the handful of soft toys that did get made, like the plush Stay-Puft and Slimer puppet, had a No-ghost plastic button sewn onto them. Columbia-Pictures copyright should be visible on a tag, and if the tag is absent, there’s the button.
A number of soft items have popped up over the years - some are unofficial items created as carnival prizes. I’m wondering if this might not be the same thing, though it’s pretty elaborate, with the no-sign.
The glued on nose however is not a good sign that it was made to be “kid safe”.
I don’t know where this hails form, but i had one as well! An older friend of mine had one that he obtained from a table at a college science fair. They were using it as a prop at their booth. He’s an avid Ghostbusters fan so he bought it from them and years he gave it to me as a gift until it got a little chewed up by my dog. i threw it out because i assumed either the guys at that science fair had made it themselves or it was an old carnival prize or something. I wish i kept it and tried to repair it. I would love to know where it comes from originally as well!
This is a carnival prize stuffed animal. I’m not sure what company made this, but it was made in various sizes along with a Slimer one. I have this as well and also a big one, almost 3 feet tall. Back in the day, I have seen these hanging in the booths at local carnival games.
Thanks for all of the comments guys. It was sent in by a ghosthead who wanted help Identifying it. It was supposedly purchased at a department store back in the day.

It looks like one of those bootleg prizes you get at a carnival/fair. Is there a tag on it?

Could it possibly be home made?
