What Type of Poker Players Would Your Favourite Batman
Characters Be?

With the release of Justice League just a few months away, we here at Legions of Gotham are already mentally
preparing ourselves. However, while some may try meditation or go on a walk to try and clear their head, we’ve instead
opted to over think our favorite characters.

As a new line of casino games based on the original Batman television series was recently released, we’ve been
thinking a lot about what type of poker players the Caped Crusader and his fellow characters would be.

Batman: The Rock
Where better to start than with the main protagonist himself: Batman. As a force to be reckoned with that cannot be
deterred despite challenging circumstances, our Dark Knight would probably be labeled The Rock during a poker
tournament between Gotham's greatest.

These sorts of players tend to use their secretive playing style to their advantage, often allowing others to regard
them as the calm yet stubborn center of the game. Professional poker player Bruno Politano is a self-described Rock,
and
has suggested that players play tight, choose their plays deliberately and take fewer risks so that when it comes time
to bluff, your opponents won’t be able to tell. We don’t know about you, but this sounds like good advice for Batman.

Robin: The Fish
At first, being called a Fish in a game of poker sounds more like an insult than an advantage, but the fact remains that
your new title is probably accurate. You see, The Fish is the player that is new to the world of poker, the least
experienced and the most likely to crack under the pressure of the poker table. That is, unless you learn to hold your own
and turn these seemingly terrible attributes into advantages.

Of all the characters in the Batman universe, Robin is perhaps the character that resembles a Fish the most. Yes, he
may not hold the same sort of weight as his fellow heroes or even a majority
of the villains he faces in the beginning, but
over time he learns how to play smart, looking for the best time to reveal his hand.

The Joker: The Maniac
We mean… what other sort of player was the infamous Joker going to be? Every maniacal poker player thinks they
know they’re doing, despite the fact that their actions come off incredibly random and weird to everyone else. To achieve
success, the Maniac should attempt to keep those big, bold moves to themselves and instead focus on hiding their real
intentions from their opponents.

If there’s any character in the world of Batman that hides their
sensible plans behind crazy moves, it is without a
doubt Joker. In fact, getting him to even partake in a Gotham poker tournament would be particularly difficult, but if it
became a reality, we have an idea of who would be the most unpredictable player.
There you have it: our take on the sort of poker players our favourite Batman characters would be. What do you think,
have we made the right decisions? How about the other characters featured in the Batman universe? Let us know in the
comments below.
