Batman Classic TV Series Is Back On The Scene

Fans of the Batman Classic TV Series will be doing the Batusi when WBCP and its licensing partners give them a first glimpse at the all-new licensing program for the fan-favorite live-action series.  Sure to ensnare the eyes of collectors and ignite the nostalgia for the 60's series is the Mattel vintage-styled Batman Ken® and Catwoman Barbie® collection, and a BATMAN™ Classic TV Series 6" Figure Assortment, BATMAN™ Classic TV Series TV Moments 2 Pack, as well as a BATMAN™ Classic TV Series Batmobile.  Rubie's will introduce a line of costumes based on series favorites including Batman, Robin, Catwoman, The Riddler, and The Joker.  Additional licensees supporting the Batman Classic TV Series include Funko with stylized figures and plush; Mezco with colorfully detailed vinyl figures; NECA with an 18-inch action figure; Round 2 with model kits; Cryptozoic Entertainment with trading cards; and a variety of high-end collectibles from Noble Collection, Sideshow Collectibles, TriForce, Kotobukiya, Medicom and Hot Toys.  The Mattel Hot Wheels® brand will rev-up with a high-end Elite Scale Batmobile inspired by the 1966 hot-rod in the series for the true collector; along with many other toy partners who will help bring to life this cultural phenomenon with a Zap! Nickelodeon Debuts a Brand-New Episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

On Friday, Feb. 1, at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT Nickelodeon will introduce Karai (voiced by Kelly Hu), a 16-year-old rebellious teenager and trained ninja, in “New Girl in Town.” During the episode, Leonardo, tired of Raphael’s constant criticism, lets his brother try his hand at leadership for a while.  Meanwhile, Leonardo meets a beautiful and dangerous Kunoichi who tries to lure Leonardo to the dark side.

Now Is Good DVD Review

Review: There are a few movies that are so touching and emotional, without being cliche or sappy.  Garden State comes to mind...Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind..and after I saw this DVD, Now Is Good is added to that list.  The film features the great Dakota Fanning, who has really blossomed into the stellar actress that we all figured she would.  This film takes her character through the last months of her life and explores the relationships and events that bring her to and end.  This one is heartfelt and thought provoking and we cannot recommend it enough.

Seal Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: A break in the manhunt for Osama bin Laden serves as the backdrop for the gripping story about an extraordinary group of U.S. Navy SEALs who undertake the mission of a lifetime. Despite inconclusive evidence that bin Laden is inside the compound, and ignoring the possible ramifications of an unannounced attack on Pakistani soil, the Pentagon orders the attack. SEAL Team Six bands together in the most daring military operation of our generation, completing their mission of justice in a riveting final showdown.

Review: The greatest manhunt of our time, perhaps in civilized history, has finally come to an end.  We're all divided in this country on so many topics, but on this we are united.  We are all happy that Osama Bin Laden was brought to justice.  Seal Team Six is a well-produced and entertaining look at the process that occured to invade Bin Laden's compound and take him out.  Is it all facts?  No!  Although, I dare you to find a Hollywood production that is.  This is a fictionalized recreation of the events.  Certainly some things are dramatized, but its a great watch and it feels very vindicating.  We highly recommend this one to all Americans.

Dance Moms: Season 2, Volumes 1 and 2 DVD Review

Volume 1 Synopsis: Once again set in Pittsburgh's renowned Abby Lee Dance Company, owned and operated by the famously outspoken Miller, "Dance Moms" follows the children's early steps on the road to stardom and their mothers who are there for every rehearsal. Presenting a powerful cast of characters, the show immerses itself in dance competition season, delivering a captivating and dramatic look at the cast's intense pursuit of national dance titles. Volume One includes the first 12 episodes of the second season, culminating with the 1.5-hr. "Abbygeddon" episode, in which the girls travel to NYC for the Joffrey Ballet School audition and Abby Lee Miller breaks down crying when her favorite dancer, Maddy, forgets her routine.

Review:  The horror continues with the dreadful Abby Lee Miller terrorizing and ridiculing children and their parents.  This dance academy is a joke and the instructor is a nightmare.  That aside, this makes for a very entertaining show, especially with the clashes between the parents and Miller.  There is plenty of drama, and not all that much dancing or learning.  I mean, how can she possibly teach these children anything, she can barely move herself.  This is an awful show and a great example of reality TV.  Sadly, we'll keep tuning in. lol.

Compliance Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: Inspired by true events, COMPLIANCE tells the chilling story of just how far one might go to obey a figure of authority. On a particularly busy day at a suburban Ohio fast food joint, high-strung manager Sandra (Ann Dowd) receives a phone call from a police officer saying that an employee, a pretty young blonde named Becky (Dreama Walker), has stolen money from a customer. Convinced she's only doing what's right, Sandra commences the investigation, following step-by-step instructions from the officer at the other end of the line, no matter how invasive they become.

Review: Compliance is a fantastic art house film, loosely based on the incidents in real-life at a Kentucky McDonalds.  If you're not familiar, google it.  Basically, a prank caller contacts a restaurant manager and says he's a cop and one of the employees is a suspected criminal.  What ensues is a bizarre test of compliance to authority that can hardly be understood or believed.  If the film were not based on real life events I would call it absurd.  This is a disturbing and eye-opening watch.

Synopsis: The landmark TV drama continues with a whole new generation, as JR's (Larry Hagman) and Sue Ellen's (Linda Gray) son, John Ross (Josh Henderson), locks horns with Bobby's (Patrick Duffy) adopted son Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe), proving that in Texas -- oil is still thicker than blood. Both families want control of the coveted Southfork family estate. With JR's cunning guidance, John Ross is determined to drill it, while Christopher backed by Bobby, searches for alternative fuels, and plans to donate Southfork to a conservatory. It's a battle without limits, whether it means stealing another man's money, loyalty, girlfriend or wife. leaving just one question. Whose side are you on?

Review: I remember watching Dallas as a kid...for many many many years my parents tuned-in back in the 80s.  I remember when J.R. got shot...I remember the drama and the intrigue that kept this show popular for so many years.  Now, with the renewal of the show with a few old key players and a lot of attractive and young new ones, I can see that the magic is still there.  This entire season is filled with an updated version of the same drama and crazy family feuding that I expect from Dallas.  This show certainly hasn't skipped a beat.  Its a great watch.
